Kiersey Cup 2024

Last weekend (20 & 21 January 2024) was full of fantastic badminton!

To everyone who entered, played, supported, baked, bought raffle tickets, umpired we are beyond thankful to you all for contributing to our competition.

We held the Melissa Keith Memorial Cup on Saturday and the Hella Weber-Doyle Memorial Cup and the Kiersey Cup on Sunday. Both Melissa and Hella loved badminton and were the best team members we could have wished for at Kilmac and they are so dearly missed. We would like to thank Melissas family for coming to present trophies especially Tom and Cian. It was an honor and a privilege for us to pay tribute to both Hella and Melissa.

Lastly we want to extend a huge thanks to the Kiersey family who have given our club unwavering support for many years! Jim and Marie, we sincerely thank you both for everything.

All of the games last weekend were just brilliant, the standard was so high. Everyone that played put on a masterclass of badminton and we want to say a huge congratulations to all of our worthy winners and finalists!!

So that’s it for another year folks, we hope you all enjoyed the weekend just as much as we did and we will see you all next year, same place, same month and same sport.

Munster Senior Closed Championships

Well done to Eoin who won the Munster Senior A men’s doubles and mixed doubles today (28 January 2024).

Intercounty Competitions

4 February 2024

Well done to all the Kilmac players who represented Waterford yesterday in the D, F and H intercounty competitions.

The H team emerged victorious.

D were runners up.

F lost by the narrowest margin in the semi-final.

Thanks to all the managers, selectors and helpers who gave up their time to coach and organise these squads.

Munster final

Huge well done to the Intercounty E team who were runners up in the Munster final yesterday (18 February 2024). Well done to the team who gave their all and played brilliantly all day. Also well done to the G team who played really well and gave 100% but lost out narrowly in the semi-final.

Wonderful news today, Martin Walsh has been selected to play for Ireland against Scotland in May.

Mixed County Championships – Night One

23 February 2024

Night one of the Mixed County Championships.. tonight we had Grade D, F and H.

In the Grade D, Garvan and Stephanie beat Daragh and Amiee in the final.

Grade F winners were Oisin and Naoise beating Bibin and Katie in the final.

Grade H Sham and Katie beat PJ and Pauline.

We’ll done to everyone who took part.

Waterford Under 17 B Team

Well done to Waterford Under 17 B Team who were runners up yesterday in the Munster intercounty competition.

A huge well done to club members Áine and Amelia who were on the team and who played brilliantly all day.

Mixed League Finals

On Friday (April 5) night we held the finals of the Mixed league.

Well done to all the teams and thanks to Waterford President Jeanne who presented the prizes.

Munster Doubles and Mixed Competition

Well done to everyone who played in the Munster Doubles Finals in MTU this weekend! In particular, congratulations to Ciara on winning the C+ Ladies Doubles with her partner Tanya, Ciara and Eoin who won the C+ Mixed Doubles and to Fiona and Edel who won the F Ladies doubles A great achievement representing both Kilmac and Waterford.
